YOUR DOG'S HEALTH

Firstly, is your dog in optimal health? It is vital to have a check up if you haven't been recently as health really influences behaviour. If you have already been, fantastic! All dogs MUST be referred by a veterinarian to proceed as this is an ethical requirement. If you haven't been recently your veterinarian may ask to see you - please call and check with your practice. Instruct your veterinarian to complete the form located on the veterinary referral page.

Katey only works with owners committed to implementing change therefore requiring a commitment to a minimum of 3-sessions.

Each programme includes a behaviour assessment, report with behaviour plan and follow up appointments
The more you commit too the more you save over all! You can choose from 4 different support programmes.
Appointments are on weekdays only between 10am - 4pm. You will unlock appointment slots upon booking.

Why use zoom? Zoom sessions are used for certain behaviour issues, when you need a home visit, during adverse weather or during lockdown restrictions. Zoom is a very efficient method especially for behaviour. Unsure? Request a zoom session when you apply to test it out & watch the video below for all the benefits.

Katey only takes on 4-new behaviour cases per month. If you need help get in touch as soon as possible to avoid a delay in starting your behaviour programme.

In-Person Sessions and Online Option

Not sure if you should have in-person on online help? If your dog has issues with noises, reluctance to walk or human aggression you need online behaviour help. If you need a home visit, you will need online help as home visits are not available.

QUESTIONS?

Have a question? Take a look below

When are the appointment times?

Weekdays during the day (subject to availability). Latest assessment slot is 4pm, latest follow-up appointment time is 5pm. Hours may differ for in-person sessions during summer heat.

Behaviour Questionnaire & Veterinary Referral

Once you have made your enquiry and Katey has taken you on, you will book your and pay for your behaviour assessment. You will be navigated to a page where you can access a behaviour questionnaire and instructions which you need to read.

You will need to send the completed questionnaire back to us prior to your appointment so we can familiarise ourselves with your individual situation. In addition, your veterinarian may need to send referral form prior to your appointment.

How many appointments will it take to fix my dog?

Unfortunately there is not a one size fits all as this depends on many factors: health status of the dog, how long the issue/s have been present, how many issues are present, how much you commit to make changes, how consistent you and your family are (to name but a few).

I don't think Zoom is suitable as you won't get to 'see' the problem behaviour
It is a myth that the behaviourist needs to see and experience the behaviour issue as this is in fact detrimental to the dog and to the working relationshop. In addition, where there are cases of human aggression the assessors safety is priority. You can provide videos if you wish of the behaviours being experienced. These should only be filmed when the opportunity arises and should not be incited.
HELP: My Dog has bitten a person!

Dog bites vary in severity and the severity of a bite can lead to the owner being prosecuted, as such each case is considered on it's own merit. If the bite is severe you may be referred onto another professional and you may need specific legal help/advice.

Do you do home visits?

Whilst COVID is still a risk home visits are UNAVAILABLE. On the odd occasion a home visit might be available subject to travel fee and the additional cost of blocking out the days diary. Check the COVID statement for up-todate information.

How can I pay?

All payments are taken in advance via the booking system, you can pay securely with a card.

How can I book further support programme?

You will be sent these details once you have finished your current programme.

Can I claim on my insurance?
You need to check the specific requirements with your insurance company and ask which associations they require the behaviourist to be joined to.
